saros - intelligent ambient electronica

Saros • “Labyrinth - and we shall all die trying”

The amazing new ambient-electronica instrumental album of composer and producer Jörg Hüttner contains the music for the art exhibition “Labyrinth” which took place at the Strychnin Gallery in Berlin in 2008 presenting Canadian artist Richard A. Kirk and Benelux-based artist Raf Veulemans.

The gapless album contains 7 tracks with a total length of 45 minutes. It is the 2nd full length down-tempo album of Jörg Hüttner released under the “Saros” project name. The 1st album is still available as download from Magnatune. Joerg Huettner founded "Saros" back in 1998 together with DJ Jan Osh as a Goa/Ambient project. After 8 months of work they already had their first live gig in front of an enthusiastic crowd in December of the same year. In 1999 first CD compilation releases followed on the German based label "Zoomia". In 1999 Jörg went on solo with “Saros”, focusing more and more on ambient and down-tempo tracks. In 2001 and 2002 further CD compilation releases followed on “Waldorf Records”, the label of the world famous German synthesizer company “Waldorf”, as well as on Ceiba Records, USA, in 2003.

Besides intriguing down-tempo instrumental score-inspired music the “Labyrinth” album cover is an art piece by Richard A. Kirk called “the riddle”. Among many other things Richard has created the album cover for US metal superstars “Korn” for their “untitled” album in 2007, and has illustrated several books for the famous British writer and director Clive Barker.

The album is available as download on iTunes, Amazon.com and Magnatune and various other music download shops, or as a beautiful 6-panel Digipack CD with a 12-page poster-fold booklet through CD-Baby, Amoeba Music in Hollywood, the Strychnin gallery, Swiss record shop Bro-Records and soon from German mail-order infrarot.de. The Digipack CD contains additional art by Richard A. Kirk and an excerpt of a novel by writer Tim Mizelle, which is based on and inspired by Richard A. Kirk’s art.
